Over the course of this summer, I had the immense pleasure of curating a cohort of six amazing dance artists from across the UK in collaboration with Nupur Arts Dance Academy and Artistic Director Smita Vadnerkar for the “Emerge 2023” artist development and mentorship program.

Like in 2021, we selected six Indian Classical and Contemporary dance artists and I mentored them in an immense project to create their own six-minute dance solos in 5 weeks, whilst guiding them in developing their unique choreographic voices and creative methods in original sound design, poetry and dance filmmaking.

Additionally, this program also gave the artists overall professional development by providing one to one sessions with industry professionals in the fields of lighting design, photography and videography. Each artist was also offered a bursary.

Finally, we are ready to share their work with you! Join us online TOMORROW 18th July 2023 at 6:30pm BST for the World Premiere of Emerge 2.0 showcasing the solo works of these six incredible dance artists!
