KDC workshops are varied in scope and may comprise lectures and/or studio-based introductory sessions to Bharata Natyam, Kalaripayattu, western/contemporary forms, and South Asian contemporary movement derived from the above techniques.

A series of workshops may also be booked towards the creation of a choreographic work for workshop participants.

KDC bespoke workshops respond to a range of ages and abilities for professional dancers, emerging performers, non-dancers and differently-abled individuals.

Note: Kamala Devam and KDC dancers are all DBS-checked.

Feedback from KDC workshops based on Ankusha repertoire for the BA Dance: Urban Practice programme, University of East London (UEL), Winter 2015:

‘It challenged my trust with other dancers and allowed me to trust in my own abilities. The support we received throughout the workshop was fantastic!’

– Bethany Edebiri, Third Year student

‘…the workshop strongly informed their end choreographic project, helping them create movement using a variety of styles but still respecting their histories.’

– Sarahleigh Castelyn, Senior Lecturer
